TAZ rewards for loans

A TAZ bonus for loans that really ran and were repaid, shared with the lender's RA pledgers.

Open RA owners

In shortWhen a loan of at least 50 TAZ is repaid after running at least 7 days, and its lender has at least 50 RA pledged, Saturn's treasury pays a TAZ bonus: 30% to the borrower, 30% to the lender and 40% to the lender's RA pledgers. It grows with the loan's size, the days it ran and the RA pledged, up to 30 TAZ per loan, and it is never more than half the fees the loan paid.

Saturn pays a TAZ bonus for real lending. It comes from a treasury funded by Saturn, 40,000 TAZ this year, not from the borrower or the lender, and it is paid only for loans repaid in full. Defaulted and liquidated loans pay nothing.

The bonus is an extra, not a condition for lending. A registered lender with no RA pledged lends exactly like any other: its offers can be accepted and its loans run and are repaid as usual. Those loans just pay no TAZ bonus to anyone, because the bonus grows with the RA pledged to the lender.

How big the bonus is

Up to 30 TAZ per loan, in proportion to three things, each counted up to a cap:

  • The loan size: the full amount from 3,000 TAZ, less for smaller loans. Under 50 TAZ, nothing.
  • The days the loan actually ran, counted up to the reward claim and never more than the term agreed: the full amount from 90 days. Under 7 days, nothing.
  • The RA pledged to the lender and still running at the claim: the full amount from 1,000 RA. Under 50 RA, nothing, for anyone.

Then the fee cap: the bonus is never more than half of what the loan paid Saturn, that is the 1 percent opening fee plus Saturn's 10 percent of the interest. And it is never more than the treasury holds.

Claiming

  • The bonus is claimed in a transaction of its own, so a repayment can never fail because of it. Anyone can send the claim, once, within 24 hours of the final payment. After that it is not paid.
  • Saturn Ops asks the borrower to sign the claim right after the final payment, and shows a Claim button with a countdown on the repaid loan while the window is open.
  • What counts is the moment of the claim: pledges running then share the pledger part, even pledges made after the loan opened.

Pledging RA to a lender

  1. Stake RA in Holder rewards.
  2. Pick a registered lender on Lending, Lenders, press Pledge RA on its card or its page, or use Lending, RA owners. The smallest pledge is 1 RA.
  3. The pledge runs 30 days. The RA stays staked and keeps earning its share of RA swap fees; it is only locked against unstaking.
  4. Your share of each bonus collects in a claimable balance. Claim it on Lending, RA owners.
  5. When the pledge ends, withdraw it under Lending, RA owners, My pledges. That unlocks the RA.
  • RA can be pledged only to a registered lender that is active: not paused, closed or suspended.
  • A lender can have up to 30 pledgers. You cannot pledge to yourself, and a borrower who pledges to their own lender gets no pledger share of that loan.

Why it cannot be farmed

Farming means opening loans between your own wallets just to collect the bonus. The fee cap turns that into a loss: the opening fee and Saturn's share of the interest go to Saturn, not back to you, and the whole bonus, all wallets together, is at most half of them. The interest itself only moves from your borrower wallet to your lender wallet. On top of that the loan must run at least 7 days with interest charged for the full term, the borrower and the lender must be different wallets, the lender must be registered and have 50 RA pledged, and a loan pays at most 30 TAZ.

The admin sets these amounts and can change them; the figures here are mainnet's at the time of writing. Lending, Rewards shows the treasury's balance and the rewards of your own loans, Lending, RA owners has a simulator that works out what a pledge could earn, and each repaid loan shows its reward on the lender's page.
