Aetherpost is a public social network kept in smart contracts on Phantasma. Anyone can read it without a wallet. With a wallet you make a profile, and from then on you can post, reply, quote, like, repost, follow and tip. Everything you do is a transaction you sign yourself, and Saturn Ops never holds your money.

Profiles and handles

• Joining takes one signature: it creates your profile and, if you like, claims a handle and follows up to 20 people in the same step.
• A handle is your @name: 3 to 20 characters, lower-case letters, digits and underscores. You can post without one; feeds show profiles without a handle only when you ask for them.
• Your profile holds a display name, a short bio, an avatar link, up to five links and up to three pinned posts.
• One person profile per wallet. A wallet can also hold service and token profiles.
• If you release or change a handle, it is held for you for 7 days before anyone else can take it. A handle that spells someone else's token symbol, and a short list of reserved names such as saturn and admin, cannot be claimed.
• The owner of a token can claim that token's profile and post official updates for it.

Staff wallets, recovery and moving a profile

• Add up to 10 other wallets as staff, each with its own roles (profile admin, posting, commerce) and an optional expiry. A posting-only key that expires after 30 days is a safe way to post from a second device.
• Set a recovery address. If you lose your wallet, the recovery address can start a move of the profile to a new wallet, which completes after 72 hours; your own wallet sees the pending move and can cancel it.
• You can hand a profile to another wallet: you propose, they accept. The move revokes every staff wallet and clears badges, so the new owner starts clean.

Posting

• Posts, replies and quotes hold up to 2,000 bytes; articles, which need a title, up to 8,000. Any language and emoji work.
• Links must start with https:// or ipfs:// and appear as cards. Opening one shows a page that tells you where you are going before you leave Saturn.
• Tags (#name) and mentions (@handle) link to their feeds and profiles. The people you mention get a notification.
• You can edit a post for 1 hour after posting. Every version stays visible in the post's history.
• Delete removes a post from Saturn Ops and leaves a marker in its place. The chain itself keeps the original transaction.

Likes, follows and tips

• Likes, reposts, follows, blocks and reports cost no Aetherpost fee, only a little gas.
• Limits keep the network usable: 5 seconds between posts, 200 posts and 2,000 actions per profile per day.
• Tip a post in TAZ from 0.01 TAZ; the whole tip goes to the author, Saturn takes nothing. Tips in other tokens also work; the fee on those starts at 0.
• Your first like or follow creates a profile without a handle if you do not have one yet.

Fees

0.00000001 TAZ is the smallest amount of TAZ there is. The Aetherpost admin can change each fee later, but only within limits written into the contracts: at most 10 TAZ for a post or an edit, for example. The page always shows the current fee before you sign.

Moderation

Anyone can report a post or a profile. Moderators can hide a post (reversibly) and suspend a profile for up to 7 days; the admin for up to 30. Only a separate legal role can redact a post for legal reasons, and that cannot be undone. Every decision is listed in the public moderation log with its reason. A suspended profile can still appeal: up to 3 appeals a day, free.

Before v2 reaches a network

Until the new contracts are live on a network, Aetherpost there keeps working on the original noticeboard: titled posts with keywords and a flat fee shown before you sign. Those posts keep their numbers 1 to 999 and their links. New posts start at number 1000.

Everything on Aetherpost is public and permanent on the chain. Deleting hides a post here, but the transaction that carried it stays in the chain's history. Never post a private key, a recovery phrase or anything you would not want kept forever.

Do I need a handle?

No. A profile without a handle can post and act. A handle makes you easy to find and puts your posts in the default feeds.

Why does my post say it is pending?

It is waiting for the index to read the block. It usually shows within a few seconds; the post page reads the chain directly if the index is slow.

Can Saturn edit or remove my post?

No one can change what you wrote. Moderators can hide a post from the feeds, and the legal role can redact one; both are logged publicly with a reason.
